Our history

In 1963, Karl-Heinz Rauter laid the foundation for today’s company – Rauter Spedition GmbH & Co. KG.

As early as the beginning of the 1970s, in addition to transport tasks with standard vehicles, the company also carried out transports with its own special vehicles, such as trucks with truck-mounted forklifts, trucks with loading cranes and silo trucks with compartmentalization.

With the reunification of Germany in 1989/1990, the transportation tasks of the shipping industry grew by leaps and bounds. The vehicle fleet was expanded to meet these requirements.

In 1995, Karl-Heinz Rauter’s son, Martin Rauter, took over the sole management of the company and gradually expanded it further. The construction of a new administration building with its own workshop and car wash in 1996 laid a further forward-looking foundation (stone) for the company’s development.

In 2017, the administration building at the Homberg site was expanded and capacity more than doubled. This was followed in 2019 by the construction of a warehouse.

Since July 1, 2021, the company, which now has more than 60 pulling units and around 100 employees, has been handed over from Mr. Martin Rauter to the long-standing employees Mr. Mario Schwedes and Mr. David Deget. Thus, the course for an innovative, modern and secure future was set in good time.
